Replicating Circular Formations in Vue 4

This tutorial describes how to use Vue d’Esprit’s replicate command to create a circular formation and a spiral. There are two methods and four pages in this tutorial.

Method One – Using a Pivot Point to Create a Circle

Step 1) After you have your object selected, then go into the pivot point area on object's numeric display. Here is where you define the objects a pivot point. Normally, the objects pivot point is the center of the object where X=0, Y=0, Z=0.


Here I define an offset
of 30 on the X axis


Here is the cone that I am going to replicate. It is 30 x 30 x 30 in size

  Step 2) Open the "Scatter / replicate objects" dialog from the edit menu. 

a) Set the number of copies you want to make on the circle.
b) Set the rotation degrees (Z degrees).
c) Select OK.


The Scatter / Replicate dialog with settings.
